We've been doing a lite version of this approach for a few months now:
25mg huperzine every second day; ALCAR every morning
+ Buhner herbs for bartonella twice daily (includes EGCG)
The real changes since introducing the huperzine have been
1. increased baseline energy
2. decreased brain fog (better cognition overall, actually)
3. ability to occasionally go out for a short walk.
So thanks dacarte3 for bringing such a simple treatment to us all.
You are very welcome.
Yes congitive improvement is the most well known ability of Huperzine A for the various reasons discussed.
Don't forget about
Alpha GPC Choline. The reason why I say this is because of it's ability to improve the brain to muscle nerve communication, which then improves muscle contraction and strength.
This could also aid you the ability to maybe take longer walks and be more mobile.
I'm just very very happy this has worked for me, Lapis, and few other people (including your self) that have shared their improvements in this conversation.
The reason is because there's two different kinds of lyme symptoms. One's that are not time sensitive and others that are time sensitive.
A lot of the more "run of the mill" lyme symptoms while disturbing and unpleasant in their own right are not "time sensitive". One can treat lyme holistically and simply "wait". Just be patient and "wait" for improvements and things to get better.
But then there's also disturbing and unpleasant lyme symptoms that are definitely time sensitive. When one greatly start to lose their cognitive function (Alzheimer like symptoms), or severe muscle weakness that really affect the ability to move, and muscle wasting and deterioration (ALS like symptoms).
These latter symptoms can't "wait" because they greatly, greatly, inhibit a person's ability to live a decent quality of life. People have lost connections with family members, spouses, and their jobs because of these more debilitating lyme symptoms.
LLMD's telling those of us that are suffering from these "time sensitive" symptoms to just keep treating lyme and "good luck" was not could enough for me. We are too advance in the world of biological science to simply accept these symptoms. A more surgical and pin point treatment for these lyme symptoms are needed because they are time sensitive, they can't wait.
So I just hope we found it here.
