Lyme herx or drug reaction

I started doxy few days ago. I was only on plaquenil for lupus but symptoms didn’t get much better.
I took the first dose at night and my burning nerve pain on feet came back in full force.
This symptom was gone for a long time.
On the second day burning pain came to my hands and kind of all over my body which I’ve never experienced before.
My symptoms incease few hours after the dose and subside slowly but not completely disappear.
I used to think burning and tingling nerve pain were the worst... and I’m scared that it’s going to get worse.
Should I stop the medication? I feel like I’m reacting badly to doxy.
My right foot is twitching badly as I write this...

You sound like you are herxing, you may want to discuss backing down on the dose with your llmd and make sure to detox a lot.

Epsom salt baths(warm not hot), drinking water with lemon juice all during the day.

For bad herxing some members use Alka seltzer Gold. has to be the Gold kind.

Also binders can help to bind up some of the toxins from the die off of the bacteria. Some people use activated charcoal, Zeobind(Zeolite) but always take 2 hrs away fro ant meds, herbals, supplements and foods as it will bind those too.

also sometimes when treating for Lyme and confections other new symptoms can appear.
