OK, so Buhner suggests doing this immediately if you find a tick attached. It would be good to have this available and ready with you. Especially if you have children.

First what he says to do: Tick Bite: Remove tick(make sure you get complete tick out, leave no parts)
Liberally apply Andrographis tincture to bite site.
Cover with a moistened glob of bentonite clay.
Cover that with cotton/gauze.
Leave on for 24 hrs.

At tick bite: Homepathic ledum 1M 3X daily for three days

Remember: SAVE TICK AND GET IT TESTED


Tick kit: Tick removal tweezers(most vets or pet stores should have these, different than regular
tweezers).
Cotton and/or gauze/ bandage
First aid tape
Andrographis tincture
Bentonite clay


Andrographis paniculata is a powerful herb. Buhner goes into detail on pgs.368-379 about it in
his book "Healing Lyme"

He states he has has good reports of people not getting infected when doing this.
I'm not saying it will prevent all infections .
I am not telling any one what to do, you need to feel comfortable and do your own research and
make your own decisions.

For me and my family this is what I will do if any tick bites occur. So far Buhners book and
protocols have helped me tremendously in moving forward in getting well.

Your family should be taking 1000 mg Astragulas per day for prevention, and if anyone gets bit increase dose to 3000 mg per day for 30 days.

I usually apply Olbas oil. It's such a strong oil, I wonder if anything survives Olbas.

I guess, you could add it to andro tincture.

I think Olbas deal with more pathogens, like viruses too.

My naturopath (the ex-right hand of dr. K. in Seattle) recommended to put a slice of garlic during the night.

I used to do that, now I only rub Olbas.

I get often bitten by ticks. Many times a year. I have a 'secret' treatment for not getting ticks with Borrelia (homeopathic, I learned from my lyme dr. who learned from a vet!!), but the ticks come infected with other stuff too.

Believe, not all come with Borrelia, but some come with other infections but no Borrelia.

It's been 8 years we are in remission, and 8 years we are bitten every year. So far, so good. Still knocking on wood though.

thanks jinna- olbas is a good idea. What is the secret ??? Or am I reading this wrong??

After my son was rebit in April someone posted Buhner's 'after bite' protocol.

I agree, I made up four ziploc bags with andographis, tweezers, alcohol wipe, gauze pads, tape. I have one in apt, one in weekend house, one in car, and one in hand bag.

I will never be without this. Also was told take Amoxy/Mino at first sign so have them in there too.

Should the andrographis be diluted or used straight from the bottle?

And are there measurements for the clay, or just enough water to turn powder into paste?

I put it on my son without diluting it. Hope that was correct. I just added enough water until it got like mud.

Easy-peasy. Let's hope none of us have to use it again smile

I just pulled a tick off me. I mixed andrographis powder with bentonite, a little spring water, made a paste from that and applied it on the tick bite, covering with gauze and tape.

Will that work?

How long do I leave it on? Do I reapply?

Did you clean bite first? Alcohol is good. Yes, reapply 2x a day. Put Thieves oil on it if you can. Or Tea Tree or Oregano -an oil with anti bacterial properties AFTER tick is removed and area cleaned. Then Andographis and the clay.

I also mail the tick to a lab to check 'it' if you want that information.

Where do you live? I heard they are out earlier this year. My PTSD has already set in. Good luck.

Thank you. Unfortunately, I put the tick down on the bath mat in front of me and it got lost in the frills of it, so after looking for it for like 15 minutes, I just bagged up the bath mat in two garbage bags and threw it out. : P

I don't have those oils but I do have alcohol, so I'll clean it and reapply the andrographis stuff. Thanks!
