Oral vancomycin for lyme and bartonella?

Is it true that only the IV version of the vancomycin has any potential use in lyme treatment?

My son has bartonella, lyme and babesia and he was taking bactrium for the bart which he was allergic to (developed a face spotty red rash). The doc said that vancomycin (oral) could be a substitute that would also hedge against developing c. Diff in the gut due to the long term abx.

However vancomycin is not absorbed so how does it help treat bart outside of the gut?

Interesting about the Vanco usage

Not for my 3 year old... Bactrim and cipro were two things that came up and because he had an allergic reaction to Bactrim and because he had c diff in the past the doc said we could try vanco because it would cover both bartonella and c diff...
