it is very difficult to get cured of chronic bartonella because if u have chronic bart it means there is something wrong with your immune system.
one way to get cured of chronic bart for people with HIV is to get HIV treatment. When your immune system bounces back from antiviral HIV treatment, your bart gets cornered and u are again symptom free.
It remains to be seen what treatments are best for lyme. What we take now is just keeping bart from eating us alive but does not address the main problem. People with AIDS, especially homeless, were put generally on antibiotics very often because of bart. But also on antifungals because of candida, which for AIDS can kill you ... Again this DOES NOT MEAN bart was resolved with antibiotics for these people, the solution was addressing the core of the immune dysfunction , which was the HIV.
Bart is a generally benign parasite. It does not cause harm in normal people. You are not normal, this is the problem
In probably 90% cases on forum here, it's because of the lyme persisters that dampen our immune system. As soon as you wipe these out, the immune system starts working again.
Unfortunately the treatment for lyme persisters is only in its infancy, so most/many of the people on forum here with chronic lyme, have persisters deep into tissues. these create immune impairment similar to AIDS but not nearly as severe. But enough for Bart to become a problem.
And if someone here says there is no proof of that then please tell me why Dr H's sickest patients that no longer herx on mino/doxy have huge herx on dapsone ... why are they herxing if they were treated with years of abx previously ....well ...persisters....
