Funny you ahould ask. We know there has been at least some mold in thr rental house we are moving out of. i saw it behind the washer. Also water spots from a slow leak in the ceiling in the LR. What are your thoughts regarding this information and my current bought if issues? Main symptoms are brainfog, feeling loopy, muscle twitches, anxiety sprinkled in woth some paranoia and a light sunburn sensation in my legs skin. I should mention also im coming off of low dose xanax .25-.5 mg per day. Been off about a week, was on for about 3-4 months.
CIRS stands for Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome caused by exposure to biotoxins such as mold, Lyme, dinoflagellates, cyanobacteria, etc.
Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker coined this term and found lab verified biomarkers related to this syndrome, including HLA-DR genetic markers.
CIRS can cause the same symptoms and systemic dysfuction as Lyme. If you have CIRS, you very likely will not get well or symptom free with Lyme treatment alone.
If you got CIRS from past mold exposure (old house), but there's no ongoing current mold exposure (new house), you can STILL have CIRS from the past mold exposure, especially if you are genetically susceptible. Your body may not be able to remove the mold toxins, and the toxins continue to get recirculated through the bile, causing a continuous loop of chronic inflammation.
The information can be found on Shoemaker's website, and there are a handful of physicians who are certified in his protocol. Look to see if there is one near you.
These are the lab tests that are done:
