Hey, Psilociraptor:
I'd heard the term "PVC" and even knew what the acronym stood for, but, until this post, I don't recall looking it up.
/www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/premature-ventricular-contractions/symptoms-causes/syc-20376757I'm glad I did, because this seems like something I've been dealing with, intermittently, for a few years. But, I'm not sure what triggers it in me, as it can happen at random times.
I have noticed it, several times, when taking a shower before bed. I've also noticed it while standing at the kitchen sink washing dishes. Less frequently, I've noticed it sitting here at my desk. Mostly, it seems to happen when I'm standing.
For me, taking some supplemental magnesium does seem to help. This is anecdotal, of course, and I can't be 100% sure. But, I've repeated this experiment a few times and there appears to be a strong correlation.
Having read many of your other posts, I know you're very smart, resourceful, and diligent. As such, you may have seen the following pages. But, if not, maybe something will be helpful.
Premature Ventricular Contraction - Causes/bit.ly/2tj1c6u6 Natural Ways to Stop PVCs (Premature Ventricular Contractions)/bit.ly/2MvvH1P10 Ectopic Heartbeat Vagus Nerve Palpitations Tips for You/bit.ly/2yjfCZLIn my case, I'm not too worried about
my heart, as I've seen two cardiologists and had two treadmill stress tests with corresponding echocardiograms, numerous EKGs, wore a Holter monitor, and had a Coronary Artery Calcium Scan. All was fine. So, I feel pretty good about
my heart.
(Incidentally, all these tests (plus a Carotid Intima-Media Thickness test) were not for the PVCs, but for chest pressure, fatigue, breathlessness, dizziness, etc. Gee, what could have been causing all those strange symptoms?!?)
If you try some of the easy suggestions to address the PVCs and not have success, perhaps your doctor can look into the matter further and help you gain some peace of mind.
Good luck, friend.
