Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone has information on a family doctor in Calgary who is Lyme friendly.

Also wondering if anyone has any information on whether financial support is available at all. I have a friend who is very likely suffering from Lyme but she needs a positive Armin test to get in to see Dr H. She has declared bankruptcy and is struggling to find funding even to do the testing, let alone keep her head above water. With my own finances decimated and having sold my house years ago I have very little I can put on the table to help her.

Glascis - I replied to your email....unfortunately I don't know of any supportive GP's in Calgary.

I have reached out to a prior Victoria Lyme Group facilitator...to see if she has any ideas.
You can also go to the CanLyme website...look in the Alberta section...for who to call.

What about a GoFundMe on Facebook for your friend.

If she raises the money, does your friend have a Dr. who will sign the Armin Lab requisition? (I guess she would be looking at a LLND, but that would cost her more $$)

You actually don't need a doctor to sign the Armin labs req smile Unlike Igenex. You can get it yourself smile

The advantage to having a doctor order it though is that you get a 24% discount.

Fortunately in her case, she can get it through Dr H. But obviously he is not a family doc and won't take her on for Lyme treatment even if her result is positive for another 18 months or so.

I hate social media but thank you I think the gofundme may be a good idea. I'll have to see how to get one started.

CanLyme unfortunately I had emailed them last year and barely got a response back after months saying the contact on their website is no longer involved.

Wow - I didn’t realize that with Armin Lab.
How do you get the blood draw tho?
I doubt if Life Labs would do it without a dr?

I guess if you have a nurse or Dr friend there’s that option..
