People taking minocycline, can you share your herxs?

I'm having a lot of weird symptoms with this, every time that i take it.

Erratic heartbeat, horrible tinnitus, pressure in my face, crawling sensations, numbness of tongue, pain behind my eyes etc.... i'm afraid that i'm having intracraneal pressure.

oriol everything u describe i had while on mino first time. it was horrible....

2nd time i was put on mino 1.5 yr later, i herxed very little , just some head pressure in first 2 weeks then all symptoms gone....

I had/have the internal vibration in my thoracic area. I had it prior to any treatment...and I still have that symptom to some degree...but it's changed...I have more nerve pain now and less of the 'vibration' feeling.

Not sure if my change is for the better or worse...most likely worse.

Mpost, did you have this symptoms before starting mino? I hadn't it or only a little but not a problem... now i have severe interna vibration in my thoracic area... pressure in my face, arrythmias etc... i feel encephalopathy and i want to discontinue it... i'm afraid, but my llmd says that big mistake if i do it.... i have to visit er every two three days...

i had the symptoms before mino but 1/10 of the intensity. i do not exaggerate, but 36h after starting mino, i had the worst herx of my life, it was so bad i called my work colleagues to see how my muscles are twitching over my hands, something i kept telling them it happened but i was not able to prove it until i started the mino. this was fun for first hours, but 12h later i was unable to leave bed let alone reach work ...

my heart was beating completely randomly and i had moments when i thought i will die. i called ambulance twice and they gave me fluids intravenously (electrolytes) to more or less stabilize me. nothing worked except lowering mino dose.

i thought back then i have an allergy to mino or side effect , i was very concerned about intracrannial pressure as life threatening side effect. i was not able to finish the mino course of 1 month at full dosage, something that i regret even today. if i were able maybe i would not have had to re-treat 2yrs later... and my disease progressed afterwards to a full neuro one from a minor/peripheral neuro...

2 years later i tried the same mino same brand, same dosage, almost no effect. so ... where have my side effects go ? if u have an allergy to an antibiotic, and u do not take it for 2 years, chances are u will still have that reaction if u restart it 2 years later. i was literally terrified to start mino again i was prepared to not exit house and work.... but nothing happened...

so what conclusion should i draw from this ? the one i did was it was a huge herx, most of my brain spirochetes died back then and i was left with a low level infection that was driving an autoimmune neurological disease but it was not able to take over and create bacteremia as it did 2 years earlier ...

if u have a better explanation ... by all means surprise me....

Girlie, sometimes i confuse it with my heart... this internal vibrations are insane....

What I can't understand is why when i'm off mino, i don't have twitching and it's start mino and have terrible muscle twitchings... my heart is strange off mino but on mino it's worse.. .

I will be going on Minocycline as well...but haven't started yet. But Dr. J in DC has prescribed Acetazolamide, Klor-con 10, and Vitamin C 1000 mg for the head pressure. So maybe see if your doctor can prescribe those to remove the head pressure??

no i do not

I'm not going to cut the treatment... it's it or die.... hopefully one day i'll start to feel better... thank you for you suport guys.

Please be careful when mixing hardcore ABX with strongly bactericidal herbs as a newbie. The herbs by themselves can cause monster herxes from hell. Combined with the bug die-off caused by the ABX and the ensuing endotoxin flood this can be a dangerous combination. Try to build up a tolerance to both the ABX and the herb before combining them blindly. Good luck.

I just remembered a herx I had on mino - hubby and I went away to a resort for a weekend - and I had been on mino for a few weeks (with nothing else)

The second evening I got horrible shivering even though it was hot summer weather - I ended up spending an hour in the hotel room jacuzzi tub filled with hot water and crying my eyes out.

But my issues are usually nerve related and not heart.
