We will now be able to ask our GPs to request FULL BAND RESULTS from the CDC when we have a test done for Lyme.

This is a result of the recent Roundtable Discussion on Lyme Disease (Nova Scotia)

Previously, although they tested for bans 31 and 34, they were NOT reporting them on test results..but now the Doctor's can request them.


But, of course that is if you get past the Screening tool (IFA or Elisa) to even proceed to the WB.

I had a negative IFA..so no WB was done.

This is fabulous news. Although it's frustrating to hear that you still can't skip the Elisa and go straight to the Western Blot any change is positive. My doctor just said my results were negative with no indication of whether I passed the Elisa or not.

It should say on the report?

Mine said “IFA negative “ and no mention of WB

I’m not sure what other bands are already included - that info wasn’t provided...but I’m assuming it’s bands 23-25, 39, 83-93

I doubt if it’s as good as Igenex - ie not as sensitive.

I'm taking like anything related to Lyme the doctors know nothing about this. Is there anything from either public health or Health Canada that I can show my Doctor?

My results showed:
ELISA reactive
Western Blot IgM non reactive
Western Blot IgG non reactive

Ask for the list of bands for both WB’s and see if the 31 and 34 are included

There should be a list showing each band result
