Igenex on Antibiotics

How will antibiotics skew the Igenex test? My naturopath wants me to do this test, but I am currently on doxy. She doesn't want to take me off of them as she believes I am in an acute stage and wants to keep going with the doxy but needs more information on co-infections. She acknowledges the test will be less accurate when on antibiotics but I would like to know to what degree. Is it worth the risk to wait until I'm off of them? Lastly, how long do I need to be off of them before I take the test and they're out of my system?

It really shouldnt affect those results. Maybe IgM if you have been on abx or awhile but in many cases-it can increase the response in your test result. Sorry typing with one hand-response is limited!

Depending on what test you do... std is western blot which is based on antibodies.

When you say increase the response, does that mean my result will be more accurate if taken while on antibiotics, or increased in that it will show more response/bacteria? As for IGM, I've been on antibiotics just under 3 weeks.

Antibiotics shouldn’t affect the accuracy of the test but if you have a compromised immune system prior to abc it can really increase the amount of antibodies you are producing=stronger result
