My pledge to Lyme

So you came into my life uninvited and turned it upside down. Yet, you have also humbled me by reminding me how human and fragile I can be. You and your friends have taken all but my will to live and I don’t appreciate that.

You've turned my friends and family against me with all your crazy symptoms. Because of you, I’ve lost my health, my memory, my strength and what little money I had. Am I as crazy as they say I am?

Well, guess what? I ain’t giving up without a fight. Now that I know who you are and what you do, I am going to use every ounce of strength and knowledge to fight you. I am not alone; I know others like me who will help me fight you. We are going to beat you!!

I’ve lost too many days in bed because of you. Life is too short as it is. I’ve missed too many memories with my loved ones because of you. Enough! I’ve had enough of you!

Here’s my pledge to you: For as long as I live, I am going to make the most of each day, and somehow, some way, find the strength to make each day a better one. I pledge to fight you until I can’t fight you no more. Giving up is not an option. Getting rid of you is my purpose and I will live each day with that goal in mind.

No more excuses, I want you out of my body and out of my life for good.
