The official 2018 thread about Grapefuit Seed Extract (GSE)

Hello all !

I've read previous post on the subject that dated from quite a while ago, and I was curious to know if people who see LLMD here had more update on weither or not GSO should be used as a Cyst Buster.

From my understanding:

Reason that makes me feel like giving it a shot:
-It seems GSE was proven to attack cystic form of lyme in vitro
-My LLMD (Dr. M. in plattsburgh) suggested that my girlfriend use it since she don't have plaquenil prescription yet.

Reason that makes me skeptical:
-Buhner does not seem positive on it uses
-Some report online mention that it can lower the effectiveness of some abx (my LLMD said to take it with lunch supplement, apart for abx for that reason)
-Report of contamination during the GSE creation process.

So, to GSE or not?
What dosage have you guys used?
What brand?

I thought GSE helped me a lot. I took it for maybe three months. I agree that you wouldn't want to take it long term.

Maybe someone could fix the title of this thread. It says "threat" not "thread".

I used it for awhile...knowing about the contamination.


Now I'm using pharma cyst busters.

Well we'll give this a try then! It seems like there is a few different brand,
I was debating between Nutribiotic and Pure Encapsulations that you guys recommended.

I supposed they are similar in term of effiency? I guess we'll go with the capsule one for convenience issue.

Do you think it would be beneficial for me to use it as well, to combine it with plaquenil? Or would that be overkill? ;)

You’ve given me valuable info a few times now, i’m going to relax, breath a bit and do as you mentionned.
I also believe my protocole is pretty solid, but thought that the weak link was the cyst buster as I only have plaquenil for that matter (hence why I thought about taking GSE too).
That being said, Im supposed to ser my LLMD again in 2 months. Maybe she will cycle things around a bit and go for Tindamax or something.

My pleasure, glad that anything I share can be helpful in anyway! It's hard not to get impatient, and easy to get stressed about missing something or not having an angle covered. But I have tried my best to have a philosophy that treatment is a marathon, it will not get fixed overnight, it takes one step at a time.

But I think it's great and important that you are researching potential options and various strategies. Understanding various contingencies and treatment options is critical, and will allow you to better tailor treatments as you move forward from the initial stages. Treatment can end up involving a lot of trial and error. My doctor who is treating me is very knowledgable, but they have been flexible and open to listening to my ideas and suggestions. I'm of the mindset that the more knowledgable we are the better position we put ourselves as patients to get the best care possible.
