Chemotherapy

Hi...I have a possible leukemia diagnosis and am waiting for the results (terrifying time). Most concerning, however, is that if the result is positive how will I withstand treatment. I have been dealing with really difficult gut infections (bacterial/fungal) for years now. If I become immune compromised after chemo, surely they will just take over. Has anyone on this forum had experience with cancer treatment while dealing with microbial issues. Thanks so much for your feedback.

Thanks for your replies and caring thoughts. The second test came back negative. Such a huge relief I cannot explain. But it still got me thinking...I never want to be blindsided without a plan or clue like that again. So, just in case, it might be wise to understand the alternatives or the dangers of immune depressing therapy for people with pre-existing microbial conditions.
