Sorry if TMI.

I can't hold in gas,
I smell like poo/internal waste after I eat,
When I chew/suck a sweet I pass gas without feeling it,
Can hold in a number 2 though.

Anyone have this?

Could it be the Lyme or one of the coinfections I have are in the anus/rectum affecting nerves?

A serious yeast problem in your gut could explain the gas. Are you taking probiotics? You could also try eating some raw garlic but I'd go low & slow, especially with everything you have going on. You might experience some die-off so be prepared. How long did you say until you're able to see a LLMD?

There are exercises that you can do to strengthen your anal cavity. These can be done while seating, driving and good for general lower abdomen health. Kegel exercises is one that comes to mind right now.

+1 on yeast causing gas issues. You should eliminate sweets until your gut and GI tract are healthier.

As far as the nerves, it may be a problem of a muscular nature rather then nerves. When it is nerves you feel this paralyzing pain begin in the rectum and travel down your legs. It can be very excruciating.

If you are not taking magnesium you should try it and see if it helps you. It is great for muscles. Just don't take magnesium oxide because it can cause diarrhea and then you are going to be in a whole world of trouble.

Yes its neurological infection, it got better with treatment, good refrigerated probiotics, gluten and food allergy free

Thanks a lot everyone.

For me it's the worst of the symptoms. Would love to get my control back.

Did 12 weeks of Symprove. It helped while on it but not with control.

Have tested negative for candida overgrowth by blood antibody testing on 2 occasions.

Doors12 - I'm hoping you are right. I always thought I had some kind of infection as I get a lot of leaking mucous. Hoping when/if I get to start treatment, this problem will go away.

Still waiting for an ID to review results. I've a weak positive on the elispot from Armin labs and 8 coinfections. There are no LLMDs in Ireland but one very good ID that treats Lyme so the wait could be until January I am told sad

Sorry to hear about the doctor situation there in Ireland.

Is that blood antibody test checking for systemic or stomach candida? If stomach, is it reliable? A test often used here in the states is a comprehensive stool analysis through Great Plains and it's not reliable at all. With your symptoms, you could disregard the test results, treat for candida, and switch probiotics.

SoMuchFun - one was an anitobody IgG and IgA, the other an elispot so I think both were testing systemic infection but you would expect to find something if it's in the gut. It's more of a control problem. I can't feel the gas when I eat - it's a bad smell (sorry for TMI).

I have CMV, ehrlichia/anaplasma, chlamydia pneumonia, EBV (latent infection), mycoplasma, coxsackie, HHV6, Echo-virus. I think some of these can affect the gut.

Has anyone with these and/or Lyme had loss of control/a smell when they eat as if chewing triggers it?

I could suck a mint and get an awful smell of poo/waste with no sensation.
