Bug bite - what would you do?

On Tuesday I got bit by something, pretty sure it wasn't a tick. I have about pink area about a quarter in size on my right side near my waist band. However as we know other things can carry tick bourne diseases as well as other nasty things, I'm curious what to do for precaution. I've been taking 3000mg of astragalus for months, which buhner says is protective for tick diseases. I'm also on plaquinil and biaxin. Ive been treating the site with plantain and balm of Gilead. What else would you do?

I would watch for any new symptoms or rash besides the red mark you already have.

Have you spoken with your llmd about this new bite?

It is good to keep building your immune system up.

I did have a bite about a month ago and thought it was a larvae tick(luckily was not one after all, according to tick report at UMASS). Whew!!

Anyways my llmd did have me start on doxy right away just in case.

Hoping this turns out to be ok for you and no issues.

Hope others will chime in with their thoughts too.

Buhner says to put andrographis tincture on bite site (tick's bite) and cover with moistened gob of bentonite clay, cover with thin cotton, leave on for 12-24 hours.

Astragalus certainly helps. Clay alone is also good, for mosquito bites etc, pulls stuff out.

Thanks Goshawk - I emailed my LLMD on Wednesday and still haven't heard back - grrr. No new symptoms yet but the bite area is sore

I took a Minocycline Wednesday but experienced an issue I've had with Mino before so stopped but started Doxy today to see how I tolerate that. Still on the Plaquenil and Biaxin though.

Started taking CSA, oil of oregano and pomegranate juice in case the bite transits something viral

How would you boost the immune system?

Thanks Zimica! Wish I had some andrographis tincture and clay! I used plantain as I understand that helps to pull stuff out.

Any other suggestions are definitely welcome!

Vitamin C, Cordyceps tincture, good nights sleep, eat healthy.

Taking the astragulus helps too.
