I'm taking several herbs and supplements, plus minocycline, for Lyme, babesia, and bartonella. The first time I took mino it caused depersonalization and depression, I thought it was a side effect but it was the herx; the second round, two years later, improved my neuropathy without issue. You could leave a message with the LLMD about continuing the doxy.

I would wait to see the LLMD on tuesday. She will give you a protocol to follow.

You might be on too low dose of doxy. That may be why you haven’t felt anything from it

Thank you Girlie. Hopefully they’ll up it for me on Tuesday. Does anyone remember what their original Protocal was? I’m so scared to start this journey but am glad I have the help of you all

My first protocol was Lyme - started with amoxicillin 1000x3 daily and a month later added Biaxin to it

Edit - I forgot - I got some doxy from my regular dr a couple months prior to seeing a LLND.

You can get better with proper diagnosis and treatment. Never give up, never give in, keep fighting. I had to repeatedly tell myself this for 12 years before I started to see improvement from the debilitating symps. Hope you are working with llmd.

Thank you Roxie <3 so far I’m feeling decent on the Doxy . I only have a few days left of the 10 day dose but will be seeing a LLMD on Tuesday. Do some people take Doxy daily for ever?

Glad to hear you tolerated the doxy pretty well so far! Usually people don't stay on doxy forever, if patient plateaus usually want to rotate to something else. And most doctors who treat these infections will combo meds for synergistic effects, and also to get broader coverage against the infections and the various forms of borrelia.

Thanks everyone. It just seems like such a long road of trail and error. I’ve overcome so much in my life, I guess I’m tired of fighting. I’m either two or three months into the diease, do you think there’s time to catch it with treatment? Good luck Roxie, I’m on Doxy now and it seems to be going ok.

Also I believe I’m in stage 2 right now. What do you guys think the LLMD will treat me with? Maybe IV antibiotics?

Two or three months isn't really that long, even if you are in stage two, it's a lot better that you caught it early. I went 6 or 7 years without getting it properly treated. Since you're on antibiotics now you'll probably have a good chance of getting rid of it.

I think most LLMDs use oral antibiotics first, but I'm not quite sure.

I doubt if you will be prescribed Iv antibiotics unless your GI can’t handle orals.

Guys am I just paranoid or can Lyme make your teeth move? I honestly feel like I have a sudden overbite sad WTH. My teeth have changed color as well but that might just be the meds and supplements.

Does anyone know why I’m not herxing on the Doxy? When they thought I had a auTI back in Aug. they gave me Bactrim for seven days and the Herx was unbareable, I’m wondering why i’m not herxing now.

Probably the LLMD will give you more different antibiotics and then you will start herxing. Also, not everyone has noticeable herx reactions.

The only way you could know about your teeth is to visit a dentist. I was sure the other day that I was getting an underbite, because I had an overbite for a while, and I was afraid it was overcorrecting, but when I went to the speech therapist, she said my bite was perfect, so I guess it's not easy to tell.

Doxy and mino can definitely make your teeth change color, and a lot of tines your dentist can scrape it off when you are done with antibiotics.

Hey... I can relate 100%. The first 3-4 months of being sick, I didn't just WANT to die. I legit had unwanted thoughts telling me to do it. It was incredibly hard, but I've just kept with it, and almost 2 years later I can say I'm doing much better overall. I'm still fighting, and still have symptoms, but no longer consider myself "sick". (Not that I'm symptom free. I just think it helps me to think and act as a normal, healthy person as much as possible...).

I'm positive you have people who care about you. Think about them, and think about how valuable and precious your life is, and just give your best effort every day. Get to a LLMD, and just take small steps towards recovering. One day at a time.

It's so, so hard. And you're incredibly strong and brave to be fighting it.

I remember setting a date for me to give up-years of making no progress. The date gave me time and excuse to try lots of things-finally I treated dental and parasite and got good improvement. I thought my dental was great-clearly my regular dds missed a massive infection that a biological dds found and I couldn't ever believe I had a parasite problem-but I did. This told me I could heal-still working at it but life is much better and I will get it all back!
