I have granuloma inside my spleen... A new granuloma in my skin... so tomorrow i restart Bart treatment. Do you consider it first than lyme? because i have lyme but i can't take all together.

Doctor who told me that. Agree with me with rifabutin. (Altough i think it's resistant... because with macrolides rashes desapeared fast but nothing do rifabutin) and says that erithromycin coul be an option, because i had flox symptoms with biaxin. But to my understand it's more dangerous than clari right?

So what will you be taking for Bartonella with the Rifabutin

Whatever antibiotic you take with it - should make the combo good for Lyme too.

How do u know you have a granuloma in your spleen?

I didn’t think erythromycin had worse side effects than Biaxin.
But I don’t think many llmd’s prescribe it - may not be as effective?

Also - I believe Rifabutin will hit lyne too... no?

For Bart you need a second antibiotic anyway

Suggestions to consider: mino, bactrim, Azithromycin, Ceftin or ominicef, Clindamycin, amoxicillin.

So sorry you are going through this. If your bartonella and other infections are progressing despite the meds you've been taking, then a knowledgeable Lyme practitioner could guide you toward herbal medicines and other powerful alternative, instead of or in addition to your pharmaceuticals. Sometimes it takes a variety of approaches to make a difference. Hoe you find something that works for you soon!

Hi Girlie. They did me and mri of stomach and ultrasound.

Saraeli smile i will combine meds with herbs.

Jjmartin, do you mean that older bart infections have les change to create granulomas than others?

Unless a person"s Bart infection is not too old then they all have granulomas , that is just how it works. Many are unaware how this disease progresses and ABX and herbs might make a person feel better temporarily but the disease still progresses.

umm...there are people in remission...are you saying no one gets into remission when they have bart?

Well I know people who have been in remission for several years....and no relapses so far....
so not sure what you're talking about.

Antibiotics continue to leach back into the system for years? Haven't had time to read the article you posted about.

DS took Rifampin and mino at same time for bart.

i took azithromycin, minocycline, and rifabutin for 7 months. i feel it was highly effective for me with both lyme and bartonella.

i would monitor your thyroid with both rifabutin and minocycline (if you choose to take it), as they both can elevate thyroid hormone.

OriolCarol, I thought you were going to pursue herbal therapies for bartonella because the reactions to pharma abx were problematic?
