Buhner herb strength ratios

I bought my Crypto from Elk Mountain Herbs and it says the ratio is 1:5. The Crypto that I previously used from Woodland essence is 1:3. Is there a drastic difference?

Given that Buhner recommends them, I would think it's not a big deal and will likely still be similarly effective. Have you taken cryptolepis before?

I’ve been taking Crypto for about a week and a half. It has helped drastically. I suspect I have babesia.

That's great that it is effective for you so far! can always try rotating to CSA from woodlands essence at some point (I like the herbal combos), but if it stays effective just keep with this one. Like Sandyfeet mentioned effective therapeutic dose varies person to person. I tend to like rotating herbs whenever I plateau, but some people get well with relatively simple protocols, it always depends.

sebreg, if you plateau, do you increased the dose or do you switch the entire herbal protocol? ie. if plateau on CSA at 90 drops/day, do you stop taking it and use soemthing else? or do you raise until you herx?

Just realised my crypto and houttuynia are 1:2 could explain why I can’t get past the 20 drops twice a day.

Anyone feel free to correct me if i'm dead wrong, but i think it roughly works like this:

If the tincture is recommended at 1:5 @ 30 drops
then a 1:1 would essentially be 5 times as concentrated as the 1:5. So 30 divided by 5 = 6 drops which makes the recommended dosage of the 1:1 tincture @ 6 drops .

1:5 tincture @ 30 drops (3 times a day) transposed into a 1:2 equivalent would be something like 12 drops (3 times a day). 30 divided by 5 gives you 6. 6*2 = 12... hence 12 drops of the 1:2 tincture.

Also as a side note, watch the alcohol content with tinctures if you're buying form different sources. eg. a myrrh tincture for example needs like 90% alcohol to extract its medicinal properties - in other words you probably wouldn't get much out of a 30% alcohol version.
Buhners recommendations are a good enough start.

Usually I will try increasing until I reach what are considered conventional maximum doses. If I'm not noticing anything at that point (improvement or flare) I'll usually rotate to something else.
