What happens if blood work is much better but you're not?

My LLMD is retesting me at the 5 month marker for all the things that were flagged high. Some of which indicated a suppressed immune system. What happens if all my blood work markers comes back with the majority in the normal range even though I'm not better at all since I started treatment? Would this mean that something ELSE is causing my symptoms?

In other words, if on paper I should be 100% better but what if this doesn't match the reality. Does this mean I have to look elsewhere for another form of treatment or is it still possible that this doesn't necessarily mean we can rule out Lyme / Babesia at the primary culprits?

Which tests are you talking about? Blood tests are run periodically to test for safety (make sure your other organs are not damaged during treatment) but I don't think they determine the efficacy of treatment.

She runs a test called C3A that tests immune function. Other tests would be for Epstein bar, HHV6, etc. It’s possible everything has improved.

EBV and HHV6 are only high when they're currently active. Mine have been high. With treatment they can go down. I'm not familiar with C3A. But I'm sure every one of us on here has a lot of normal blood tests but obviously still feels lousy. It's not the be all end all for sure, only an indicator of if something is severely off balance

Well you might not feel better if those “things “ werent causing your worst symptoms.
Or maybe they aren’t causing any symptoms

Thanks I'll keep those things in mind.

My C3A was about a 1,000 (outter limit is <780). C4a was normal.

Yea I always found that amusing (or depressing) how we can go to a general care doctor and be a perfectly normal patient by our results but that's far from the truth.

I've had a lot of sleep tests done and they only indicate a mild version of sleep apnea but something else is definitely contributing to my sleep disturbances. Because mild sleep apnea alone doesn't explain how severe my symptoms are.
