My child 9 had been treated with Doxycycline for 21 days (Positive lyme test) since then he is mostly fine, but occasional random fatigue and complains about overheating after playing or temperature above 74F (that is it). I find it very unusual so I figured something is still hanging. My regular Pediatrist would not do anything so I have been treating him with no aggression at all since he is mostly better but lacks serious stamina that he had before lyme.
After studying a lot I just focused on two things either Babesia or persisters. I doubt babesia since I found no tick on him when EM rash begin, Babesia can only happen if tick latched for more than 24 hours. I still did not discard possibility of babesai. So I am using Artemisia annua and Oregano oil and that is it. I like artemisinin very much based on mutiple studies without too much worry and with herb I have even less worry.

Questions and thoughts that come to mind:
1) How long was your son sick before treatment started?
2) Your son had an EM rash - he was bitten by a tick. ....or some other insect that carried and passed on the infection(s)
3) No, Babesia can happen without a seeing a tick. Often no tick is found. the tick can bite and leave. And the 24 h our rule is b--sh--.
4) I would find a Lyme Literate Dr. who treats pediatric patients....for your son.
A 'regular' Dr will not treat your son long enough and most likely won't cover the confections. (Babesia, Bartonella, etc)My son got treated after 7 days of bite since Doctor's were confused about
rash, but when second rash appeared they figuref lyme. I have not considered LLMD because there is nothing to do, as he is mostly in good health and school is going well too. Heat intolerance, random fatigue and top sports stamina are only remaining issue. I am not sure if LLMD can help, he will mostly prescribe more antibiotics but that will be useless I guess.
research is stuck at how to eradicate persisters and antibiotics will do more harm then good, also too much trauma to go Docotor
