about the Buhner website- It was never really created or maintained by Buhner. Buhner used to answer questions (weekly I believe) through the Planet Thrive website, and someone created a separate website out of all the info generated there.

The protocols in the books are actually slightly different and more expansive than what they have on the front page of BuhnerHealingLyme.com. I personally had much more success with the herbs when I followed the books. If you're not buying any books, do consider checking your local library. There is a 2008 version of Healing Lyme, and an updated 2015 version.

I don't blame you for going the herbal route. I can only speak for the protocol Dr. Ross would recommend for Lyme and Bartonella (I don't have Babesia so we didn't address it) - I spoke with Dr. Ross personally for an appointment via phone last year. He suggests the Cat's Claw and Otoba Bark for lyme and Houttuynia and Sida Acuta for Bartonella. I personally cannot take Cat's Claw so he substituted something else for me in that spot, but for the masses it's Cat's Claw. It seems like you have them covered. May I make a suggestion? You may want to simplify at first so as not to become overwhelmed right away. Maybe try one herb at a time for a few days then add in another then another... This way if you have a reaction you know which one is the cause. I also find that less is best to start, it doesn't seem like such a task. Just a thought. Wishing you the best.

What did your doctor replace the Cat's Claw with? I also can not take it (mast cells)

Also- I've taken Gou Teng from both Sage Woman Herbs and Woodland Essence and the tincture from W.E. is way stronger

You can always get it at a library if your not convinced. Thats what I did. I kept it for about a month copied a few pages.

Alright, you guys conviced me, I will buy Buhner book 2015 edition.

The only thing I'd add in that Buhner speaks highly of for lyme is eleuthero. Also, he recommends rhodiola & ashwaghanda as immune modulators for bartonella and ashwaghanda for babesia so at least ashwaghanda may be worth implementing

Hey everyone I didn’t think I needed to make a while knew thread to ask this so forgive me if I’m butting in but I’ll also be starting herbals next month after doing nine full months of antibiotics, will I still Herx? Or do you think my bacteria load has gone down enough? I’d say I’m 85% better but still have bad fatigue. Ty

Hearts - no one can predict if you'll herx but to be sure start slow. One drop at a time. If you're a lot better then chances are less you will herx but keep in mind herbs are really strong. I herx more on herbs than antibiotics by a long shot.

Emms - I don't think cat's claw is contraindicated for MCAS, it is in one of my formulas but like I said to Hearts just start very slow and if you have symptoms then back off a bit.

That being said, of all the product I've mentionned, there's only 1 I couldn't find on the website: Otoba bark.

Is there a different name to it or is this something Woodland Essence really don't have in stock?
Where do you guys purchase yours?

Girlie: you're absolutely right, it is not part of Buhner protocole (I've received his Lyme book by the way... this is a complicated book to read haha!).

In that book, he dosen't seem to talk about Babesia or Bartonella, which are in different book I believe.

So maybe start low and gradually increase - to 1/4 tsp 3 x daily - if tolerated....and if you get a reaction at lower dose, then stop increasing at that point....
You could continue to increase to 1/2 tsp 3X daily.
