Hi friends,
I have an issue with methylation and my doctor had put me on B-vitamins. I had a hard time with the supplements, I can't tolerate the high doses. I've also learned that I can hardly tolerate any B6, I'm not sure why. Anyway, does anyone know of a methylated B-complex formula that is very low dose? Clearly I need to start slow if I am going to take supplements. Is there any way that I can bypass the supplement route and treat/support methylation another way? I appreciate the help. Be well. xo

I can not tolerate high doses either so my doctor put me on Thorne Basic B Complex. It is the active vitamins in low mg or low micrograms. Thorne has other B-complexes so make sure you look at the Basic B.

Is it important that all B vitamins be methylated, or only folate and B12? I'm sure you don't want to buy all the Bs individually, but that's an option. Possibly also a liquid form, so you could control the dosage.

What does the B6 do to you when you take it?

saraeli - My doctor wanted me to take a Methyl-B complex so I assume all need to be methylated. I hadn't even thought of individual Bs. As for the B6, I get flushing and strange headache/discomfort. They subside once I stop the B6, not sure why the negative reaction. It was such a low dose but couldn't tolerate it. Thank you for your reply. smile
