Thanks for sharing.
It's good to see a positive post. Most people posting are struggling, hence those reading may get the impression it's incurable.
I also wanted to share how I managed to sort out my Lyme issues incase this helps others.
As with yourself Im not a doctor and this won't work for everyone but it worked for me...
My experience was similar... I had Lyme for 6 years before I realised what the issue was.
Over the years I had a lot of issues such as a feeling of internal vibration, a lot of pain and headaches, sciatica etc (including 3 months confined to the floor / bed I'm pain with the sciatica).
In my case the following worked:
- Doxycycline - 50 days. - varied the dose from 200 - 400mg.
In heinsight I would have gone for a shorter course of metronidazole but I didn't know doxy wasn't ideal for late stage cases at the the time.
The doxy course caused a major Herx reaction at 400mg. A roller coaster ride of bad neuro symptoms such as vibration at night.
- buhner protocol - 6 months
- as much excercise as possible.. I do a lot now... I feel it's key and do at least an hour a day weight training, swimming or cycling.
- no sugar! Also I tried to get close to a paleo diet. I'm general tried to reduce the carbs and eat good quality. Unprocessed food.
The main point is.... Whatever you do, it takes time... Particularly if you have had it a long time.
I started treatment in Oct 2017. I have been steadily getting fitter since that time.
Over the past 2 years all sorts of aches and pains have disappeared and I'm in great shape.
Be interested to hear from others re the paleo diet and buhner protocol as I suspect these things are the answer.
