IGeneX Lyme Test Results

Friend got the following IGeneX Test Results today......and been Fatigued for a couple of years...but it has become Extreme Fatigue lately - Often seems to be in a Brain Fog or a Daze 1/4 of the time. Get home at 4 PM and sleep till 8 PM every second day. Have not liked light for a couple of years - always have lights dim or off, had a lot of headaches last year, but not lately. Sore knees, but not any swelling, but grew a couple inches this year... so growing pains or Lyme..... Female 14-1/2 years old........Regular Bloodwork was good, except Thyroid was low and just got put on low dose Thyroid pills today... based on regular Thyroid test and Free T4.

What do you folks think....?

Yes - Test ordered last night - should have results by Friday......for anyone else, it is good to check the box for test 489 and write beside it “do if the IgG results call for it”..... If you don’t do this on your first order sheet - you have to get your doctor to sign another form..... This was done on the original test order form - so all It took was a phone call last night asking them to run the second, follow up test..... no more paperwork delays.....or chasing unhappy doctors.... Learned this lesson on my Lyme Test - had to go see the doctor to get the paperwork done for the follow up Epitope Test.......

I have read most of the literature regarding the statistical analysis models they used to come up with their criteria for a positive "surveillance" case. I believe I remember 4 positive bands indicating 95% likelyhood of infection and 5 bands was close to 99.5%. For surveillance reasons they chose to go with 5 bands.

If syphilis has been ruled out, your friend prob needs to get evaluated by an llmd.

Hi Big Update:

In April, friend booked the earliest available appointment with my Lyme doctor.... a week later the IGenex Test 489 came back positive for Lyme.

So had to wait till May 9th for doctors appointment. Between mid April and May 9th - was is a very fast steady decline...fatigue and brain fog got so bad it was like having a “sleeping disease”. Could sleep 15 hours and still dead tired and brain fogged....

Doctor said Lyme.... started drugs on May 10th.... kept sliding downhill bad for 2 more weeks.....then suddenly levelled out on May 23rd and had been a slow steady improvement each week for the past 3 months....about 80% of the way back now...... Was to doctor Friday for the 2nd appointment, Doctor was really happy with progress..

Update.... been on drugs since May 10..... been getting a little better every week since..... about 80% better..... 😀 Definitely was Lyme - No question about it.....
