Hello to all,
First off I live in Minnesota and looks like it’s a hot spot for Lyme disease. Symptoms: dark floating spots in my eyes started about 6 weeks ago, Abnormal light sensitivity out side started 6 weeks ago, Eyes feel dry, Joints cracking loudly all started at the same time shoulders, knees, elbows, ankles started about 3 weeks ago, warm feeling in and around joints and other parts of the body mainly arm and legs started about a week ago, stiff neck and grinding neck, shaking in hands, feeling of being unstable when standing, droopy feeling left side of mouth (comes and goes been happening for a couple months, Irritability, TMJ issues but had a crown put in 6 months ago but dentist said bite looks good. I’m sure I can think of more but this is the main list. Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated.
You have Lyme plus coinfections... Most likely bartonella considering the dry eyes(they're probably red), stiff neck, shaking hands, floaters, TMJ, irritability... As you get on antibiotic treatment, the irritability may turn into severe anxiety, you may have to take magnesium glycinate or magnesium citrate if your psych symptoms get worse during herxing from bartonella.
Borrelia/Lyme in general can cause bells palsy, joints cracking, and warm feelings around joints.
Question is, do you have Babesia too, as for many this can be the dominant coinfection, and until you get rid of this you won't be able to treat bartonella and borrelia efficiently. However, you may still improve if you just treat with antibiotics, but very slowly. You'll have to incorporate special herbs/antibiotics/antiparasitic drugs tailored to each coinfection.
Everyone has different strains of babesia and bartonella, so I'm sure in some cases their Bartonella may be dominant with a mild strain of Babesia. I think the best thing to do is match up your antibiotics/herbs to the dominant symptoms, then see if your body feels better while being on these drugs. I honestly still think something like doxy/flagyl is a great way to start off for most, as Doxy addresses the borrelia, flagyl partially hits babesia, flagyl also hits borrelia round body forms and biofilms, and both antibiotics cross the blood brain barrier pretty good.
Be sure to check out A-Bab and A-Bart herbs, both very strong herbs that work successfully for a host of coinfections....
Some good bartonella antibiotics are bactrim, rifampin, biaxin, mino, and omnicef. Bactrim can hit both bartonella and babesia. Herbs that are good for both babesia and bartonella are csa formula or cyrptolepsis or sida acuta.
Be sure to make use of the search box, type in your dominant symptoms or even symptoms and a coinfection, see what herbs and antibiotics patients are using.
You'll have to use supplements to keep your microbiome healthy like probiotics.. As well as kidney and liver detoxing properly with alpha lipoic acid and milk thistle.
