My "baby" has Lyme too

Got my 7-year-old some comprehensive testing after a lice incident and he's positive for 4 Lyme bands. Not unexpected but very upsetting. 3/3 kids. I tried so hard to protect him but he's probably had it since birth.

Thanks. Yes, I do. I remember having horrible chills at night -- don't know when but definitely before the last one was born. Probably had it since I was a kid. Had plenty of tick bites as a child and teenager.

It makes me sick to think of them having this time bomb in their body all their lives.

Antibodies are passed from mother to child. That's all I have nothing else to add.

What does that mean, Joe? Are you saying antibodies are passed but not the infections?

I am feeling completely devastated, and I don't have one friend close enough to call and talk about this with.

I wasn't concluding or trying to imply anything. Antibodies do get passed from parent to child. I don't know what that means though in this case or if even is applicable.

So sorry, Dahlias. Broke my heart to hear this. My worst fear is having my children and grandbabies get these infections. You’re sick and coping to help your children, too. Bless your heart. We’re here for you.

Feel bad for you and your child. Another reason more research needs to be done. People dealing with it now, and some will for many years unless the medical world changes thoughts.

Nothing can bother someone more than seeing their children hurt.

I personally think these infections are probably more contagious than doctors realize.

Thank you, running wild and Daisies. Elvin, I agree. I've don't even like to share toothpaste tubes.

Daisies, I know you probably get it more than anyone. This was one of my worst fears, and here we are. This one doesn't have Lyme symptoms but he's showing PANS type symptoms. My sweet baby. I would love to discuss your thoughts about treatment if you're open to it (by email if you prefer). I did mostly herbal with the older kids to be gentler, and they're not much better. Took an aggressive abx route for myself and I'm much better but it was damaging to my body. We're leaning toward abx for this one but not as aggressive as my treatment.

I am so sorry to hear about your son, It pains me to hear about young children suffering from Lyme and other co-infections having suffered myself for the last 10 years from Lyme and other co-infections. The positive is that now know, and you caught it before he became really sick so he can make a full recovery with treatment. I'll keep you and your children in my prayers.

Battler, thanks so much. I was thinking that too. I never would have picked up on these subtle signs if it hadn't been for what I've learned so far between his siblings and myself.

I am sorry Dahlias to hear that sad I find the aspect of illness when both mother and child are sick, or someone who doesn't have a home is sick to be particularly cruel.
Your boy is young and you caught it early, nature is on his side, as battler says it will fully resolve with treatment!
