Hey everyone,

Where do you source your japanese knotweed in the UK?
Hopefully there's enough UK members to answer the question.

I contacted bristol botanicals, but they said the herb is sourced from China, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I wish it was grown in a more 'regulated' country so to say.
Lyme Herbs eu said theirs is sourced from Germany, hopefully this means grown in Germany.
I was never on Buhner protocol so am not too familiar with the (few) providers of herbs in the UK.

Have you tried 1st Chinese Herbs?

I believe their jap knotweed is certified organic

And it’s on Buhner s “list” of sources.

You could make your own tincture. From what I've read it grows all over the UK but is considered an invasive (which it is). There are a lot of you tube videos about cooking with it and how to make tinctures. It grows along all of the creeks around here but can grow just about anywhere, even pushing it's way up through asphalt. Long before Lyme I have had a love/hate relationship with this plant. Horribly invasive but my bees make a delicious honey from it every fall. Here is one of many videos from you tube

Wow that's very cool, thanks WV Mike! I might just start looking around for japanese knotweed haha, it seems like fun!
But I'm guessing the root is needed to make the powder, that would be one heck of a job to process. But I'd love to make the tea! I already have the plant recognition app anyway xD
I remember now Buhner's interesting stand on invasive species, how they're actually there to balance out a disrupted ecosystem.

UnsightlyCignet yes I think lyme herbs eu are polish, but they replied that they source the raw herb from Germany and have even provided me with the certificate of analysis by the supplier. I have heard that Bristol Botanicals is a good company too.
Girlie I looked on the website, it doesn't seem they ship to the UK, and probably it would cost a lot.

I'll ask just to check, but yes it will most likely be a lot. Then there are also customs depending on how much you spend.

Ive been using Bristol Botanicals, I would love to order from 1st Chinese herbs but like you Zimica, once the intl shipping charges and taxes are added it’s just too much, although I’ve never checked but this is what I always assumed.

I will have a look and let you know how much it is maybe we could even split it to help with the fees?

Hi Szabo! In the end I ordered from lyme herbs eu, because I was thrilled to discover they sell nuherbs organics japanese knotweed! Their search function on the website isn't the best so it didn't come up at first, and when I contacted them they replied their j.k. wasn't organic (I guess referring to a different product), I have no idea why they didn't mention this particular one. When I searched j.k. with lyme herbs eu in google it showed up.
The shipping is around 7 euros by dpd, 3-5 working days, but there are also other options.

I've been trying to identify the plant around where I live, but we had so much rain over the last 2 months that many of the plants even turned completely black! I guess I'll have to wait for the spring but looking forward to it smile
Unfortunately I don't live near this location, but they say a lot of rubbish had been deposited there, which Buhner warns about when collecting jap. knotweed, as it can be contaminated.
