Elevated Liver Enzymes/Should I Be Worried?

about a month ago we just happened to find elevated liver enzymes. I was currently killing parasites I think. AST levels were 33 with a (10-30) reference range, and ALT levels were 63 with a (6-29) reference range. I wasn't too concerned. Just needed some more liver support with my herxing. Fast forward to last week, and my levels have SIGNIFICANTLY increased. With some other indicators. My protein levels were 6.0 on a (6.1-8.1) reference scale. AST enzymes were 79 on a (10-30) reference range. My ALT enzymes had increased to 234 with a (6-29) reference range. And my lipase levels were 63 with a (7-60) reference range. Bilirubin and albumin, etc. were all normal though. Hepatitis tests were normal. No sign of viral involvement.

I have not been killing anything for about three weeks due to a car wreck that led to a concussion. My question is that could 1000mg of naproxen sodium for 3 weeks cause such an increase in liver enzymes for someone that already has impaired liver function? I have noticed lighter colored stools, pain in upper part of abdomen, and nausea after eating. Which is why my PCP thought it could be gallbladder. We did an ultrasound that was normal, and are doing a HIDA scan Wednesday. The concussion and the pain meds are the only things I can think of that might have caused such an increase since I haven't been killing anything. I did do one dose of parasite herbs the day before the last full moon, but we had pulled the blood levels before I did that. Should I be worried? I've tried cutting the naproxen out the past 24 hours to see how my headache goes. And I've increased my herbal liver and gallbladder formula.

Sorry to hear about your accident & illness, Ma10. Last testing, I had, also revealed elevated liver enzymes. I started drinking more water & taking a good Milk Thistle supplement- Eclectic Institute brand, Drinking roasted-dandelion-root tea (it's pretty yucky) Currently tincturing parsley root but haven't used it, ye. Once or twice, a week, I take a couple/few charcoal capsules, in morning & before bed with extra water. Our poor livers are overtaxed trying to remove toxins. I stopped taking all pharma & otc drugs. Working towards getting most of necessary nutrients from good foods so I can stop taking many of the supplements. Being mindful that many herbal supplements should be pulsed and I skip all vitamins/supplements(except hawthorn)for 1 or 2 days a week when I do the charcoal) Been 2 years since I had blood work but seeing a new allopath this week. A little update on this situation: had a HIDA scan done yesterday. They said that my gallbladder is no longer functioning. Naturally they want to cut it out. :/ I am talking to my NDs today to see if they think we can save it. I really trust the knowledge of one of my NDs. Maybe we can get a cleanse or something together to help save it! Would a non-functioning gallbladder lead to elevated liver enzymes?

Sorry to hear that MA10! I did the hulda clark liver and gallbladder cleanse, it was one of the things I decided to try because doctors weren't much help - I didn't know at the time about lyme or mold.
I remember while researching about it coming across many accounts of people saving their gallbladder with this cleanse, but this is something that requires thorough research, because maybe there are things that could go wrong? I remember a blog post from a woman who was scheduled to have her gallbladder removed and did the cleanse and thus avoided the surgery, but she insisted the gallstones must not be above certain size in order to be able to perform the cleanse, I think she had an ultrasound to check the size of the gallstones.

Of course, this is all just internet information, so you should definitely talk to your ND.
I can only attest that, although the procedure is far from pleasant, you indeed get rid of a lot of gallstones.
