While I’m waiting for my ND to order up my tests, she’s having me start some supplements for support and a sinus rinse from a compounding pharmacy.
I’ve had a lot of weird sinus stuff going on since the beginning of September that just doesn’t seem to go away. The left side of my nose is always blocked, but when I can blow my nose it’s always clear. I have a lot of tenderness in my nose and cheeks, particularly around my orbital bones (inside my nose it almost feels like I have canker sores and in my cheeks is a prickly feeling pain) Sometimes the pain radiates to my jaw and lately my eyes hurt really badly, like I’ve been punched in my eyes.
I’ve had an MRI, eye exams, seen an ENT (he looked in my nose with a pen light and shrugged) and everything has been normal. I have been on two doses of antibiotics, as well as taking Quercetin daily, but nothing has helped and it seems to get a little worse each day, hence this prescription from the ND.
The powder for the rinse is made up of Tobramycin/ Allicin/ Amphotericin B/ Ketotifen/ EDTA/ Mupirocin (Loxasperse Capsule). I was about to mix the powder with my saline solution when I decided to google the ingredients. A few of ingredients have some pretty scary side effects. Now I’m a little freaked out to even try it despite how much misery I’m in. Has anyone here had any experience with this sinus rinse prescription or with a similar prescription? How did you like it? Did you experience any side effects? Is there a safer mix of prescription medicines that combine a antifungal, antibiotic, antihistamine, and biofilm dissolver?
