Horrible Babesia Protocol Herxing (and it wasn't the Flagyl)

I had horrendous herxing or flare-up on Friday, my first day back on the "Lyme Babesia Biofilm, Part A" protocol. This was after a week off for recuperation from the last 2-week protocol. The last day of that previous protocol I was convinced it must have been the Flagyl which was added during the last two days. But this first day back on the abxs, there was no Flagyl at all. I thought I was dying. First, tingling of my nerves everywhere, then feeling like I had the flu, terrible headache, especially behind my eyes, confused thinking, muscle spasms, yawning, compulsive desire to stretch every muscle in my body, bad chills, and back/neck pain. What the hell is going on? My LL PA believes it's not Babesia, but Bb die-off. Saturday wasn't much better--felt like the worst hangover from hell. And Sunday, I'm still having major pain in my lower legs/calves/shins, and swollen feet. Finally the pain in my legs is easing, though. Does any of this sound familiar? Or am I just making a big deal out of something that many of you forum folks have gotten used to? The way I've felt the past couple of days, I'd rather die of Lyme than go through these herxes/flare-ups.

This is the abx/herb treatment I've been on now, a la Dr. J. (through my PA in Asheville who works with him):

Week 1

Monday:
Omnicef (replacing with Amoxycillin--875mg) (#1) am & pm
Septra DS (#1) am & pm
Mepron (replacing with Malarone—250-10) (#3) am & pm
Artemisinin (800-1000mg) am & pm
Enula (10 drops) am & pm
Cryptolepis (1/2 – 1 tsp.) 2 – 3x/day
Tuesday: OFF
Wednesday:
Omnicef (replacing with Amoxycillin--875mg) (#1) am & pm
Septra DS (#1) am & pm
Mepron (replacing with Malarone—250-10) (#3) am & pm
Artemisinin (800-1000mg) am & pm

I think I've had such bad symptoms for a long time that I am a bit used to feeling bad. I can feel really bad in my flares and highly suspect things may get more intense once I start the Babesia protocol. You're making me think so anyway!

Sounds like severe herxing. Try to hang in there! Hope it improves soon.
