Anyone else get this? It just started happening the last couple of days and is not related to food. I started taking Body Bio PC a few days ago. Does anyone think it’s related to this or some weird neurolyme symptom?

I looked in the search function and only say 1-2 other people say they have this.

Can you test your blood sugars? I think that a sweet taste could be from that. Would be an idea to rule that out.

I had this for a couple of months! I googled it and searched around this forum and found nothing. It was so weird and gross and I couldn't figure out what was causing it. At the same time my digestion was really bad. I'm doing herbs, and I thought maybe it was Coptis, which is a new thing I was taking when it started. I thought that maybe I wasn't digesting the Coptis well and it was causing the sweet taste. But Coptis is apparently really bitter so that didn't really add up.

The only thing I found that sort of made sense is that my body was in Ketosis. Apparently that can be a side effect - which sort of tracked because I was eating very few carbs. The past week or 10 days my digestion and bowel movements have been a lot better and the taste finally went away. I also started eating more carbs and fiber. But I also eating zero sugar in any form - barely any fruit. I've been eating a little more fruit but I am still sort of afraid of it - which might be irrational. I don't know.

Thanks Panda Fox, really interesting. I'm glad yours seems to have resolved. Not sure if this applies to me as I haven't changed my diet and have been having carbs but it's definitely worth thinking about.

Thanks Rainy Cloud. Has yours always been there with your headaches or is it a newer symptom?

I would pay attention to what PandaFox said. That sounds likely to be it. I think you can test for ketoacidosis. I would talk to the doctor about it.

Hearts just saw your Candida mention— why do you think that? Do you have this too and is it caused by Candida?

I also have a white coating in the back of my tongue. I thought it was candida and 3 Dr.'s diagnosed it as such, and I was on Nystatin and Diflucan. But it didn't go away. Then I went to a doctor who happens to see a lot of HIV patients and she said it was "hairy leukoplakia" - which sounds really gross. Apparently it's something that happens when your immune system is compromised and it will get better on it's own. Candida you can scrape off but "hairy leukoplakia" you cannot. Mine has gotten a lot better but it hasn't gone away completely. I felt like poor digestion (ibs), the tongue coating and general immune system fatigue are all connected. I hope this helps.

I'd like to amend my earlier post. It's yeast. Or at least, I still have an overgrowth of candida in my gut.

What did you get for the candida?

It’s the Now brand “Candida Support”. Just started it yesterday so will have to see.
