Doxycycline and a Possible Solution?

I've had symptoms for the past 6 months that I believe could be Lyme and/or related tick/insect-borne illness. I've had a few labs done that all came back negative, so I haven't had any treatment to this point.

However, on Thursday I was diagnosed with a prostate infection, for which the treatment is 3 weeks of doxycycline twice per day.

My questions for the group are - what, during these three weeks, would be a sign that I do indeed have Lyme/something similar? How much improvement would my symptoms show over this time if it is that? And if I don't show any improvement, is that a sign that it isn't Lyme?

You may herx - which is a ramping up of current symptoms and/or new ones starting.

Or... you may start to feel an improvement in some symptoms.

Or.. you may not have any changes as three weeks is a short amount of time... but it won’t rule out lyme.

The dosage of doxy is likely lower - for lyme it’s 200 mg twice daily. ( per llmd’s)

BTW - did you ever have an appt with a LLMD?

Thanks! Yes, my dosage is 100 MG twice daily. I'm definitely not expecting this will fix all of my issues but I am hopeful it might help point in a direction.

Update: I'm on Day 5 of Doxy. I haven't felt a ton of difference in symptoms until this morning when I woke up with a really bad headache (not a typical symptom for me) and my back pain was worse than usual. Not sure if this would qualify as a "herx" or not.

Not to alarm you but I found tha lyme exacerbated my prostate problems that I had before lyme. The treatments I’ve used for Lyme have helped with my prostate issues as well, luckily

I am definitely keeping open the possibility that it's related, especially since I've never had a ton of prostate issues (one infection a few years back).
