Korissa,
If I understand the gist of your post, you’re wanting to know if you don’t have a genetic susceptibility to mold does a positive mycotoxin test matter. The honest answer is I don’t think anybody really knows.
Mycotoxin urine testing is still pretty new, and I believe a lot of assumptions are made regarding what the results indicate. The only conclusive thing they indicate is that those mycotoxins are in your body.
No one wants to believe they have mold illness or that mold can have horrible effects on their body. I get it. Avoiding mold is nearly impossible, and dealing with mold illness thoroughly and effectively can literally cost you everything, including your sanity.
Please check your genetic test results against this chart and make sure you aren’t missing something. There are numerous combinations of susceptible genes. Remember that the multi-susceptible gene sequences are also mold susceptible.
https://www.survivingmold.com/diagnosis/lab-testshttp://biotoxinjourney.com/deciphering-hla-dr-labs/As for people from Katrina not getting sick from moldy houses. Not getting sick how? Immediate allergy type symptoms - itching, sneezing, asthma, wheezing, coughing, etc? Neurological symptoms - headaches, dizziness, tinnitus, burning sensations anywhere, numbness, tremors, cognitive impairment, joint and/or muscle pain, fatigue, blurry vision?
I don’t know anybody who has zero symptoms anywhere in their body and no health issues at all. How many people are affected by mold and other environmental toxins and have no clue. We have been programmed to believe that all the symptoms we have are “normal” aches and pains of life, due to age, due to stress, due to emotions, or all in your head.
Dr. Bredesen found that certain types of Alzheimers are a CIRS caused by environmental exposures and when treated for CIRS, their brains normalize. Mycotoxins can cause organ damage and cancer. Just take a look at your lab report.
How many of those Katrina survivors living in moldy or water water damaged buildings have chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, arthritis, Alzheimers or dementia, kidney or liver disease, cancer, or mental illness that worsened or began sometime after the mold exposure.
The effects of toxigenic mold are not the same for everyone, but they are potentially harmful for everyone.
