fingertip numbness

"Sed rate". Another one of those terms that brings my symptoms full circle. That is one of the tests that had been repeatedly done on me over my undiagnosed Lyme years.

I didn't know what it meant but as I've mentioned before it seemed like a good name for whatever was happening in my blood stream which often felt like it had sediment, or more specifically "sand" running through it.

I think they were looking for signs of RA, I never did ask. At times the tests were borderline red flagable but nothing ever significant enough to prove any condition they were looking for.

I never really described what was going on with my fingers and hands as numb. More like dead.

Dropping things and not knowing what kind of a grip I had on anything has been the mainstay since my Lyme beginning. Sometimes it really took me by surprise, especially in public.

My Internist now just attributes it to my peripheral neuropathy with "unknown" circulatory cause.

It's good to know there are supplements that can begin to reverse the problem.

Interesting there seems to be so many possible causes of finger numbness... I can feel my fingers again... I think mine may have been from circulation, and may have had something to do with a low thyroid spell..

I had to get a crown at the dentist yesterday and no matter how much novocaine they gave me I wouldn't go numb. They ended up drilling with me basically feeling it which was so messed up!! Then afterwards I DID go numb and stayed that way until 9pm.. I think I'm metabolizing sooooo slowly...

Peripheral neuropathy, maybe? Raynaud? Compression of your nerves somewhere along your leg or lower spine?

Borrelia and Bartonella both can be involved with neurological issues.

Does the numbness happen at certain times or situations?
