My partner (who does not have Lyme) has low cholesterol, the main symptoms of which (for him) are depression, dry itchy skin, and dry eyes. For him, it's a plant-based diet that contributes to it, although for most people that will not be the case. (I've been vegan for 22 years and my cholesterol remains 170ish). There are genetic factors in play for some people in terms of how much cholesterol our bodies make, but I don't know how these infections might contribute. My partner has noticed a lot of benefit from supplementing DHA (vegetarian in his case) and eating foods high in medium-chain fatty acids (coconut oil) and omega 3 fatty acids (chia seeds, walnuts, seaweed, etc.).
I look forward to hearing others' ideas!

Unfortunately I don't have any good advice, but I remember watching Stephanie Seneff (there are videos on youtube) talk about
the dangers of low cholesterol, I think that is something to be taken seriously. That's why I was worried about
possible side effects of cholestyramine, since it's meant to lower cholesterol.
Saraeli, you mentioned being a vegan, that is something with potentially huge impact on your overall health. Check out dr Terry Wahls' ted talk "Minding your mitochondria". She was a vegan for years, but now she is managing her illness (MS) largely through nutrition (she incorporated meat in her diet). I also remember reading in Gut and psychology syndrome by Natasha Campbell-McBride similar viewpoints regarding consuming animal protein and fat and overall health connection.
I am aware this is a delicate subject, and I remember meeting a vegan that switched to eating meat for health reasons who was literally disgusted just by the smell of it, and I kind of get it. Just throwing it outhere, and I recommend the books!

I have the opposite problem so I probably can't be of much help, all I know is cholesterol is the building block of hormones so maybe it'd be a good idea to see which hormones are being affected too

I have very low cholesterol as well and would appreciate any help you can give me. What have you tried to do to increase the level. I possibly have mycotoxins from mould with a positive urine test returned. I unfortunately have many other symptons and are a bit lost on what to do.

Thanks for your reply and look forward to hear how the new results come back. Also thank you for the link and will check it out. If I find anything and if anything I do seem to change my symptoms, I will let you know. Cheers

That's great news! I am taking all sorts of multivitamins which includes omega 3. Also eating tuna etc but so far no improvement. I have come to the conclusion that I must have liver problems and trying everything to support that. Thanks
