I just wanted share some MRI results & a general update, for posterity.

I had an MRI when hospitalized 8 months ago that showed multiple tiny areas of signal abnormality in the white matter mostly in my subcortical region. The report noted that it is certainly possible to be from a tick bite (duh!) and not presenting in typical demyelination disease pattern.

I had another MRI & blood work done again early this week. The MRI results came back as multiple T2/FLAIR (the imaging method names) areas of signal abnormalit - primarily in the white matter of subcortical region. So, the same as 8 months ago. No enhancing lesions. No new lesions and was identified as stable.

From my understanding, these signals are areas of demyelination caused by Lyme. The area where white matter lesions occur in the subcortical region is the area connected to the basal ganglia. What is the basal ganglia responsible for? Well, just fine motor function (see twitching). Also, controlling eye movements (see vision issues). It also plays a role in mood, behavior rewards systems, and learning (see depression, emotional lability, etc)

I was hoping for improvement, but I’ll take stabilization.

My bloodwork came back looking good. All previous markers of infection have been reduced/normalized. My Lyme antibody went from high positive 2.81 (>1.2 = positive) to a negative @ .75 (<.99 = negative)

Symptom wise, after an awful psych flare/herx/relapse in late December/early January, I feel the best I’ve felt since being sick. I’ve been doing a lot of stuff daily. My mood & cognitive ability has improved significantly. (theanine helped w mood). I feel stronger and have more energy than I’ve felt in a very long time. I may feel better, clearer, and sharper than before Lyme!

My only remaining symptom is twitching mainly in my calves - that may be permanent due to the lesions spotted on the MRI. I dare say, if this keeps up, I’m nearing remission. (Still treating with Buhner’s + Cannabis edibles for twitching)

I’ve been on 16/8 intermittent fasting for about 3 weeks now, but plan on doing some extended fasts soon in hopes to produce some stem cells that can assist in the remeylination process.

I wouldn’t have made it this far without this forum and the people who have made it what it is. Fingers crossed for continued progress and a big thank you to you all.

For remeylination I’ve been taking 1000 - 3000 mgs of Omega for probably 7 months.
5000 IU of VitD3 for 7ish months
1000-3000mg of VitC.

Also have been mediating, doing yoga and learning new instruments, & how to play songs, music etc.

I keep wanting to try Lions Mane but haven’t. Probably will at some point.

Severe brain atrophy! Is that Lyme-related? Diagnosed via MRI? So interesting. So glad to hear about all the brain healing going on.

I just read that SOD degrades in gastric acids even if in an enteric-coated form. Is this true? Do you have to get injections of it? I'm not scared of a little more grey hair.
