When to get your blood tested after taking ABX or Disulfiram

Does anyone know how long you should wait after being on ABX or Disulfiram to get your blood tested. A friend of mine has just finished 4 months of Disulfiram and wants to send her blood to Igenx for testing. She wants to wait until December however to make sure the drugs are out of her system. It seems a bit long to me. If I was going to see if the Disulfiram made a difference in my blood tests, I would think you would wait about a month after finishing then take the test then. Anyone have any good information on the subject? And what about antibiotics? This would be good for all of us to know. I know you follow your Doctors recommendation if they have one, but in the absence of that, is there a good practice to follow?

What are you testing for?

Lyme antibodies?

You do realize that a negative result won’t prove you don’t have active lyme ?

My previous LLND and my current LLMD don’t test to gauge remission

Thanks for replying Girlie. Yes they are testing for Lyme. Many of the people I know are long term Lyme patients and a number now have tried disulfiram. No one up to this point has had their blood tested after treatment. We have had lots of people wonder however how their blood results would compare to their previous results. And now a couple of people are going to go ahead and have their blood tested. I just wondered if there was a known protocol for testing your blood after you had treatment and when it should be tested? No one seems to have any idea when would be the best time to have your blood tested.

I don’t know - A negative WB doesn’t prove you’re in remission - it could mean that your immune system isn’t mounting a response.
A positive one just means you have or have had an active infection.
Pcr is a crap shoot. If the DNA is detected - then you know it’s still there - BUT a negative can mean that the small sample just didn’t have the DNA in that sample.. but you could still have it.
Picture your blood as a bowl of jello and you scoop out a few tsps of that jello - it could easily not have any DNA in that relatively small sample. But it still could be there - just not in that sample.

Perhaps the newer Igenex tests - the Immunoblot and the Igenexspot.
They are similar to the Armin Labs Immunoblot and ISpot.
I’ve heard/read they are good tests.

I wonder if calling the lab and see what they say about timeframe - when is best to test?
I have called Igenex before and asked questions.

My llmd says 14 days off antibiotics for the body to make antibodies against the bacteria

You could go two weeks apart for antibody tests and get a slightly different result because it was sunny out.
