Well I was taking mino, Jkw,sawmento,banderol, and houttynia I was feeling so good then bam out of nowhere I got hit with a new symptom I do not know what to do. My blood pressure is acting almost like a pots symptom it goes way up to 187/120 when I get up or move and the longer I stand the higher it goes. My reg dr put me on propranolol at 10mg twice a day it holds it down while sitting or laying but if I get up back to 162/102 and higher sometimes. He called to check and now wants me to take it 3 times a day. I do not know what has happened I felt like I was finally going to get some good results. Has anyone had this issue? I have quit all herbs and abx this is third day, I have detoxed a lot no help.

I don’t know much about BP issues but do recall others mentioning it. Hopefully someone with experience will see this and respond.

I have POTS - my BP isn’t affected but my heart rate is.
When I stand up my heart rate used to be 130 bpm - with treatment it has improved a lot.
Now it only rises to about 90-95 - maybe 100 on occasion.

I believe it was Bartonella.

You’re not taking a second antibiotic with the mino?

What is your heart rate while this is happening? Do you feel faint at all?

My guess is that a POTS specialist (these are rare and can take months to get appointments with) is the only person who will have any real sense of how to help, even if this isn't technically POTS. It sounds like your nervous system is very confused!

Girlie, no i thought the hout satisfied the second Abx.

Sareli: i finally got it a lil more manageable with propranolol three times daily but if i take any abx it still flys to 180/120 or so. My heart was around 107 when this happens. I detoxed with sauna and lots of curcumin and lemon water alka etc. I think i have permanent heart damage now. If my med wears off it flys to stroke level again. That is why i have to take 3 times instead of two. In 10 hrs it wears off too much. But if i try penicillin or mino just one pill the bp med does not work. Really weird got my dr confused too.

If this is a gnarly detox reaction (which I would believe) then I would expect it to take more than three days for it to clear. In the mean time, do whatever you find most effective for detox and commit strongly to complete stress reduction so that your nervous system can chill out.

Any chance your electrolytes are off? I imagine your doctor checked that.

So sorry that you're dealing with this.

I believe most LLMD's will prescribe two antibiotics. I don't know if the herbals cancel out the 2nd one.

I know my previous two LLND's and the current LLMD prescribe two.

Is your Lyme Doc an experienced one...and has he/she had many successes with his/her patients?

Just wanted to say I have also been having this annoying and somewhat scary symptom again, POTS and my heart races sometimes as soon as I lay down, I can hear it. It may be because of my intermittently poor diet (as I have other symptom flares recently), and I don't always take the beta-blockers I have: Metoprolol aka. Toprol I usually take 50mg and I have 100mg ones also I sometimes take. I would say the beta-blockers would do it, sorry you have to take so much ( or more often) to calm it down. A few other meds I know of or have taken for high blood pressure: Hydralazine, opens up blood vessels, all the -Oprolols (beta-blockers) like propanolol, pindolol, not sure how they differ, not that much. And Losartan (Cozair?). Hope you find relief, I know it's annoying and frightening.
