Bicillin-LA injections

Quite a few members on here who have used bicillin. My most trusted dr loves this treatment. Remember it must be done wo any other antibiotics, but I would recommend going this route

Hey girlie it's because as the OP noted, it's known to be "stealth". It doesnt awaken the spirochetes defenses like high dose ABX do. It's slow acting w/ a 10-14 day half-life. As opposed to most other antibiotics which hit them hard and force them into hibernation. So you combine it with another antibiotic and it loses it's secrete weapon, the element of surprise.

Lyme spirochetes have an extremely long life-cycle when compared to other bacteria. That makes them extremely hard to kill. Imagine a colony that is quickly replicating. You hit it w/ a high dose antibiotic and blunt that growth quick, it dies, it need continuous replication. Lyme, however, just shrugs it off. "Meh, i'll keep doin my thang, growing nice and slowly. You'll never get every last one of us." That makes bicillin, a stealth antibiotic that acts slowly, the ideal weapon to combat *chronic* infections.

Over the years, I've mentioned this a few times. And how I find dcd's statement "Remember it must be done wo any other antibiotics" interesting because that seems to be the way I got back to 85% back in 2015-2016 for about 18 months. All I took was Bicillin for infection and natto/serra (to break up biofilms. I was at a high dose (.24 mu twice a week).

After heart surgery everything came raging back and haven't gotten near that point (85%) again. Not even close. I was using Bicillin again, but at half the dose and not as often because of kidney issues. Felt better at going to Biologix Center, but things have come back. The doctors there are still working on it all, to their credit. But Bicillin has been the one thing that seemed to make the difference.

Looking forward to Dcd mentioning why Bicillin alone should be taken.

You might be surprised to see an antibiotic at the top of my list; however, Bicillin is the primary therapy I have used and seen tremendous benefit in the Lyme brain symptoms. (Note: intravenous antibiotics can have the same benefit, but they are outside the scope of my practice in California, so I use the injectable instead).

Bicillin L-A is a long-acting penicillin given by intramuscular injection 2 to 3 times weekly. The key here is that it crosses the blood–brain barrier very effectively, far more than oral antibiotics, so it affects the neurological system more than oral antibiotics do. It attacks the spirochete forms of Borrelia, so other medications still need to be given for the cell-wall deficient and cyst forms.

Bicillin itself has been around for a long time and is quite well tolerated. An obvious contraindication to its use is penicillin allergy. It can cause powerful Herxheimer reactions, which is a reflection of how well it works. I see more of that than I do actual side effects. Some people Herx after a few days on Bicillin; some people experience a delayed Herx around day 25. "

dcd - I have no idea how I missed your answer on why it is to be used solo. Thanks for that. It makes sense. The problem with a full dose (2.4 mu) is Bicillin is excreted so much through the kidneys. Have been hoping naturals would work in its place. How are your issues and is autoimmune still a possibility with you? Haven't heard in a while.

J Tobin - The reason I was originally placed on Bicillin was because I had a horrendous reaction to IV Rocehpin. Did it twice years ago. Both times my temperature went up to almost 106, I was shaking so much I couldn't hold a phone to call someone and ti took an hour for that to subside. I asked my then doctor if we could try Bicillin and had good results. Seems things have changed since then.

She was on the shots I’d say for about 10 months. She described it as taking them feeling her symptoms become less then come back a little before the next shot and then lesson more with each round. She was once a week, then 2 weeks, then a month, then as needed and she hasn’t taken a shot since 2013 with no relapse of symptoms. I was recently diagnosed with Bart so I was told before we consider Bicillin that needs to be dealt with first. When you mention Dr.K and Bicillin and IVIG I believe we have the same doctor.

Solaris - I get what you are saying. My thoughts, with no proof or evidence to back them up, is I've learned there is no "way," that works for us all. I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. With Lyme, I see every approach and every protocol as a hope for someone. There is one guarantee with Lyme therapy and that is there is no guarantee.

Your theory could indeed be correct. I wish I could go back to the 2.4 mu twice a week to see if it makes any difference. All I was taking to get well was that and Serra/Nato to break up biofilm. It took about a year or less to really feel a difference. But there is no doubt it did make a difference after trying so many other meds and herbs. And it worked even though I was going through the stress of my mom slowly dying and the time. For 18 months, I felt pretty great and handled a tough schedule and job.

My hope is you find the right dose and treatment for Lyme. Even with the best LLMD's, I still find what they prescribe may work or it may not work for any one individual. That I have learned over the years, and we see it everyday on this site. And I'm glad you found the shots at a huge savings. I remember those early days of spending $1,200 a month on Bicillin. From what I believe I was told, Bicillin is so old it came out when there were no waivers to making generic versions of it, so Pfizer is the one who makes it. Thank you for the great price, Pfizer . Maybe someone knows if what I was told is incorrect, but it sure costs a lot if you have no insurance.

You going to try and see what 2.4 twice a week might do?

I’m not familiar with serra/nato biofilm busters - can you give me an idea? Maybe it’s something I need to incorporate.

I currently take NAC, curcumin, omega 3, vitamin D, a vitamin B complex, and Zyrtec as my supplements. Only other prescription drug is clonazepam. The clonazepam and circumin help tremendously.

RW, the most I would do is 1.2 every 3-4 days since I’m a small build (125lbs) if nothing else worked. Every 5 days seems to work really well for me to this point after the every 7 days failed for whatever reason. Plus, Dr K doesn’t prescribe 2.4 as far I know, I would be open to trying 2.4 weekly or every 5 days if IVIG failed.

Tomm I get the final trial ivig dose, the full 40mg (25, 30g last 2 times) so that should let me know if it’s going to help. Doc is going to try and get me approved for more but it’s Cigna so it’ll be unlikely.

Dcd, pointing me in the direction of the Canadian pharmacy was incredible and I can’t thank you enough even though I’m just a random dude on a message board. I make good money but I’ve spent well over 50-60k in the last 3 years on doc visits, treatments, and supplements. The Bicillin at 1750 a box was brutal and I’ve already saved 2200 with the 2 boxes I’ve ordered so far. Couldn’t have come at a better time since my 8 month old is in daycare now and gotta pay for that - really was a significant help to my life. Hope the hood karma comes back and helps you on your journey. Hope you can Get that IVIG rolling and avoid the serum sickness!
