My LLMD has me on S. Boulardii for probiotic while taking ABX. He has told me that is is fine taking the S. Boulardii same time as antibiotics because it is a yeast. Yet, on the current bottle I am taking, it says to not take it within 2 hours of taking ABX. It is from a company called Zhou. All it contains is 8 Billion CFU of S. Boulardii.

Yes, it's not a probiotic....it's a yeast.


I was prescribed it by Dr. J in DC.

I take it a few hours away from my antibiotics anyway...with other supplements.

I would take it 2 hours from abx and any herbs and supplements. Some abx, like herbs, may be antifungal to some degree, as well as antibacterial.

Always gave me the runs almost immediately after taking

Anti-fungals and some anti-malarials will kill yeast. Possibly also tetracyclines in some cases. Beta-lactams (eg amoxicillin) generally won't.

Because of 1000Daisies experience - I don’t take as much/as often as I’m supposed to.
In fact I think I have the original bottle with some left - from a couple years ago - I should check the expiration date.
