Yet Another Confusing Symptom

The finger next my my little finger on left hand has turned purpulish red. It runs from just below middle knuckle to near fingernail, but the finger nail is not purple. Doesn't seem to be Raynaud's. The darker color is not on the top of finger.

In the past week I've had a echocardiogram come back pretty normal and a nuclear stress test of heart that showed blood flow is normal and no signs of blockage or heart failure. I do have a leaky valve.

The finger just started a couple of days ago. Does this make any sense for Lyme or co-infections? I have had it going to doctors who, despite normal results that confuse them, will not consider Lyme or co-infections as a possible problem. Sick of the medical world and despite really trying to have a positive attitude, I'm worn down with all the different issues that have no answers.

Anyone have anything like this happen? My hands are cold, but they have been cold for years and never had the bruised look on finger before. I will not go see another frickin doctor for this.

my partner has this from time to time

typically on a finger or can occur in other places - eg forearm

typically starts with sharp pain and then it kind of develops before her eyes, like a bruise forming under the skin. mild swelling and purple discoloration.

typically fades after a few days going like an old bruise

I think it's a damaged blood vessel - spontaneously rupturing.

it can also happen if she does something to the hand, like catches it on a door handle or carrying a heavy shopping bag etc.

we both have Lyme, suspected Bartonella, possibly Mycoplasma Pnumoniae.

though i am not sure which is specifically responsible - or if its due to a combination as all of these infections attack the linings of blood vessels

my partner also has kind of scarred veins at the back of her knees and down to the top of her calves which i think are due to damage to these blood vessels.

oddly her mother also gets this spontaneous bruise thing from time to time......

that's an interesting one dcd - had not come across that before - although once we are in the realm of autoimmunity the possibilities do seem endless.

what the OP is describing does sound more localized - like a spontaneous blood vessel rupture.

One of my daughters insisted I go to see someone to make sure it is not an infection, which I didn't think it was,,,, and it wasn't. But I appreciate her.

Add one more to the list of symptoms doctors can't explain: "There's no pain or swelling, so it doesn't seem to be erythromelalgia. Also doesn't seem to be Raynaud's or an infection. Let's give it a few days, and if it persists, come back again."

She also didn't think it is a broken blood vessel as the discoloration moved from bottom of finger to side. ALl good ideas put out there by all of you. Garzie mentions Bartonella. TuffyR - Does your wife have Lyme or Bartonella?

Biologix Center has started me on treatment for Babesia, Bartonella, Myco and, to be safe, Leptospirosis.

I'm not blaming the doctor as she said it very well could be another strange symptom of Lyme. At least she didn't blow off Lyme or even chronic Lyme.

One other note is my skin is itching more.

Hey running wild, I've been treating for a long while, and made some progress. I recently tested very high for mycotoxins, and so I'm going after that now... Too soon to tell...

I'm on the 11th year at this point. It is likely that the mycotoxins hindered my progress.
