I just saw your last comment that sounds like you are leaning towards moving. The best advice I could give you is that between now and when your lease is up, learn as much as you can about
mold and housing. The websites above will give you lots of homework reading to do. Set aside some funds to pay for testing and inspection of whatever place you move to.
Be very aware that mold is often hidden or covered up deliberately. Places are usually painted and cleaned before being sold or rented, so be aware that mold is often covered up and painted over. Big box stores sell paint and products that are marketed to “kill” and hide mold. Mold is not given the fear and respect warranted by much of anyone except those knowingly sickened by it and the doctors who treat them. That’s just the way it is.
If there were previous leaks and materials were ripped out, they may not have done a thorough job of removing all affected materials and probably didn’t clean anything. The air can become extremely contaminated when moldy materials are ripped out. Mold is not always obvious or visible even when tearing out materials, especially if it’s light growth. Even obvious growth is mistaken as anything other than mold.
Here’s a link also regarding what to do with your stuff.
