Hi. 2 weeks ago I got diagnosed with a nasal infection called Darcyocystitis. I was basically told to try warm compresses and Benydryl to get it under control. I was also given a prescription for 5 days of Amoxycillin in case it didn't go away. It hasn't gone away so I am considering taking the antibiotics and apparently Amoxicillin is used to treat Lyme and cos.
I really DONT want to take antis until I am less sensitive and toxic cause I'm concerned that I might herx really badly.. I'm already in daily bad nerve pain after detoxing for 3 months and without treating at all for 3 plus years. Maybe this is mold pain, I am currently waiting on my tests to come back. I will be treating herbally in 6 weeks time but I also don't want an active infection going on in me if at all possible. Right now I have a mild case of it I'd say but it could get worse and that's what I'm trying to avoid. Any alternative treatments?? Thanks for the help!

I think anything alternative might also make you herx -- like a colloidal silver nasal spray, which is a powerful antibiotic, but also kills Lyme. Same with things like oregano oil capsules. Maybe you could put some essential oils in a diffuser? Not sure if that would help or irritate it.

You could just try natural anti-inflammatories. Bromelain? Turmeric? Have you quit dairy and gluten? Maybe SPM Active would help, but it's pricey. I take it almost daily for inflammation.

I don't know if something like Restore Sinus Spray or Xlear would help. I just ordered some Restore to try, it's like $16 on amazon. Xlear breaks up biofilms and seemed to make me herx a little. Have you tried either?

There's also an expensive probiotic for sinuses that I've used a few times, but didn't really notice a benefit: Lanto Sinus Probiotic Powder. You swish it in your mouth for a minute then swallow it. I probably didn't use it long enough for any results.

I've had chronic sinusitis my whole life, possibly from Lyme and Bart. Thankfully a lot has cleared up now. I think one of the things that cleared my sinuses the best was probably drinking Cistus tea -- but that will definitely make you herx.

I have had chronic nasal and eye infections. I treat them topically with Results RNA ACS 200 Silver. It takes a while about 6 weeks for it to go and then I do maintenance after that. I find it hard to get rid of some infections completely while I have lyme they can flare when your immune system is down and you drop the maintenance but this is what works for me. I dont notice any herxing with topical applications. I have tried other remedies for nasal infections with no real benefit. neti pot and herbs, Grape Seed extract and h2o2 solutions, baking soda......This one hasn't let me down.

Maybe try Xlear nasal spray? It contains xylitol and is used by people with mold issues, allergies, sinus infections, etc. Or perhaps just saline in a neti pot?

Have you tried nasal ozone? If not find a doc who can teach you to do safely.
Also-sometime dental causes chronic sinus.root canals often do

JN44 if you can private email me I have Mold Toxicity that I just found out in December, after years of treating for lyme and it was from being exposed for over 10 years in my workplace.
