Collagen hydrosylate cause issues for Lyme patients with mcas?

I do have issues with it, but I didn’t know why. Maybe it’s MCAS. I thought it was the high arginine, as I have shingles virus, but MCAS sounds more likely. I can’t even remember now exactly how collagen supports affect me. I vaguely remember some hurt my gut. Others make me feel antsy and nervy. That’s why I thought arginine was causing the shingles to itch and twitch, LOL!

is normal collagen powder dissolved in hot water and option - along with digestive enzymes

it should be kinder to the gut at least - as is just a natural form of animal protein

i have tried it and had no ill effects - but also no short term benefits also - so after 1 month i stopped mainly for cost reasons and because my diet is high in animal protein already ( wholefood ketogenic diet ) i thought is was no net benefit

btw i also have issues with my gut and do better with digestive enzymes - the reason is i think that undigested proteins cause some kind of immune response from our hypersensitised immune system - so the more we can break them down in to their component parts before the reach the small intestine ( which is where most of our immune interaction with our food occurs) the less we are likely to react.

i have experimented with lots and lots of Betaine HCL and pepsin to break down the proteins - like 6 650mg tables per meal - but there is clearly a ceiling to the benefit - so ii reduced to 3 which was most of the benefit - then as my health overall improved somewhat i reduced to 1 per meal - which i think helps a bit.

Oh, yeah. I started out using Enzymedica. Most of the enzymes you find in the store are derived from mold. I switched to Orthomolecular Digestzymes and do much better with those. Not mold derived.
