just for balance
i think you said you were using the great plains lab - mycotoxin test
if so their reference range for ochratoxin A is <7.5ng/g creatinine
this is important as how far outside the reference range is the best indication of how likely this toxin is to be causing you significant issues.
in this case the reading seems to be only 40% above the reference range cut off - in other words barely above the reference range or only just into the red zone
i have seen some people mycotoxin tests that were 10 times the ref range (1000% over or more ) or on other labs results - several standard deviations away from the norm / ref range
whilst taking some binders is unlikely to do you harm - i think if i had only one toxin show up and only by a small amount over the ref limit - i would be inclined to interpret that as a low risk of mold toxin illness.
also - one of our other members reports speaking to the lab director at great plains and being told - everybody who does the test tests positive for some of them ( ie the almost never have all results in the green). underlining the fact that it may be entirely normal for people to have some level of these toxins show up but that this does not necessarily mean a person will have mould toxin illness.
i think its important to critically evaluate our tests results as sometimes, when our health is falling apart, its all too easy to assume the worst and set off down a rabbit hole that could take months of our lives - and considerable expense - and yet yield few measurable benefits.
its a challenge we all have; to try to be very measured and balanced in terms of what directions and treatments we prioritise in the face of many unknowns.
