Trav- Your stuck in the middle, which is kinda good I suppose.
Daylight savings (soon) vs standard time(now in most states) has its pros and cons.
I think most people will enjoy extra usable daylight after a "normal" daytime work day.
My longest daylight in summer is certainly longer than the longest day in the south (morning and evening). My early riser friends go to bed when there's still daylight and "day birds" are still chirping. But if the south had longer lighted evenings mid-summer, it would just make for a hotter more miserable summer night.
[I said "day-birds", cause if anyone has Whipperwills nearby, you know how annoyingly loud they are in the darkness!. On the other hand, there's no more beautiful sound than a Northern Loon (lake bird) flying over after sunrise
. I really miss that from the lake near my last home].
(Night shift workers are a whole different ball game - glad I never did that.)
