LLMD recommendations

You should be able to get a good LLMD in California.
Hopefully members will send you contact info on a few.

You could also fly to DC - to see my llmd. He is considered to be one of THE best llmds.

It’s a good distance - but it’s been worth it for me.

After your first initial inperson thorough consult (can take 3 hours), you alternate inperson with phone appoints.
And they get spaced longer and longer as time goes.

Here’s my appt history (based on my poor-ish memory)

My first appt was Feb, 2018 ( inperson)
2nd was phone appt April, 2018
3rd was in person August, 2018
4th appt (phone) was Dec, 2018
5th appt was in person end of Mar, 2019

They are yearly now and I haven’t been back for an inperson since 2019 due to Covid.
I’ve had a few phone calls from the office that it’s time to make an in office appt.
He’s likely to cut me off of abx if I don’t do an inperson soon.

His appt costs aren’t too bad

Initial was something like $699

Then they’re 3 to 4 months apart - alternating in person with phone appts.

In 4 1/2 years I have only travelled 3 times.

Is this about Dr. J-m—k in DC? Are you promoting him? It's not even close; in 2017, he was approximately $900 without lab work and medication, it's possible that's not bad to you but it is a lot. He's not one of THE top llmds. Even though patients have long-term damage after he prescribed fluoroquinolones, he continues to prescribe them and has dismissed to recognize it is because of that. Have you even attempted to obtain information from his front desk? Preposterous.

Yes Dr J is who I’m talking about.
It may have been $799 I paid but I didn’t pay $900.
I wouldn’t even consider $900 a lot for the 3 hour appt/exam
Are you saying lab work and prescriptions are usually included in the cost of the LLMD visit ???

Yes,I consider him to be one of the best LLMD’s. He has been practicing for many many years and he is also an Infectious disease specialist.

As far as the fluoroquinolones go - I chose not to take them but many patients do - even with the risks - as they are more (from what I have read) effective against Bartonella.

The other veteran LLMD - Dr H also prescribes that class of abx (unless he has recently stopped) and LLMD MR (Seattle) prescribes them too.

I didn’t realize that Dr MR doesn’t prescribe the fluoroquinolones anymore - as I haven’t been on his “Treat Lyme” online book. I guess he has stopped prescribing them.

He has many years of experience and has healed many.
He also considers new treatments that come along.
