These labels are just labels, just words. If I stuck it out with any of the 5 therapists I saw I would have been "diagnosed" or labeled with all kinds of things, probably Bipolar, Borderline, clinical depression, etc. Is there any value in receiving one of these labels? I guess there is if it makes you feel better or you get on disability because of it.
Outside of that, it doesn't do you any good. Have you read Gabor Mate or listened to his talks on YouTube? Do you know what your ACE score is?
Everything in my life has been a reaction to severe childhood trauma, a brain injury, all the abuse I endured, almost dying from child abuse, sexual abuse and rape, and so on. I'm not "Bipolar" -- I almost died because I was abused as a child, full stop. I have brain damage from child abuse. I know now that I was shaken as a baby by my mother (it's only fatal 25% of the time). It doesn't do me any good to have a mental illness label. I have c-ptsd, that is very clear. I can talk about
all of this now without dissociating, so that's progress.
I have experienced severe dissociation, paranoia, all kinds of crap. I bet some doctor would even diagnose me with DID or "Unspecified dissociative disorder (UDD)." Everything is a syndrome with a label now.
Deal with the trauma, otherwise you will never get better. I would bet that's why you're sick. For me the Lyme and Bartonella is only a tiny part of why I got sick.
TRE is what has helped me the most, it's free and you can do it at home:

I'm never on here anymore, but I hope this helps someone.
