Garzie - the one you linked to is a lot per serving!
I was taking 200mg per meal. Trying to do less. I read about
a theory that it kills SIBO (alternative medicine theory, so probably correct lol).
Took me three months to wean off it in 2018 (same gut episode), Drs were puzzled then to but at least I got an abdominal image.
----------------------------------------------
So my episode started from:
high pork fat BBQ, fodmap side dishes with it, and gluten free alcohol (I have Gilberts liver syndrome) . What I think happened: Fodmaps fermented (creating high SIBO environment) higher than normal due to slow digesting pork meat meal which then increased FODMAP fermenting. From that point on digesting high fat red meats became difficult and SIBO symptoms set in even more. I had all the listed symptoms. Gilberts and alcohol dont mix well possibly creating even more low bile issues vs just Gilberts alone..
Standard healthcare recognizes (per googling many" Mayo, Hopkins ect type" sites) that SIBO makes digesting fats difficult, but wont connect the dots.
One specialist for gut, another for liver, neither pay attention to gallbladder unless you have "stones" in imaging. they are not team players at all... lol.
So does SIBO inflame the bile duct? I wonder.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Additional info in my case -the Gilbert syndrome : I also have high Bilirubin at times and the "red" double copy defective gene with it. UGT1A1 gene = "Gilbert syndrome"....;
This can be related to many possible liver and gallbladder issues, usually temporary. Ive had short term Juandice from this in my past. Good news: My liver enzymes have remained in range levels well after ABX seven years ago (was elevated then)..
Im thinking this gene also can cause gut issues from the temp gall bladder issues known and documented (makes 100% sense). Its not far to connect my dots, but standard medicine has failed to do this.
UGT1A1 gene = "Gilbert syndrome and possible SIBO, other digestive issues:
